Indian Import of Train Wheels Produced Prior to Russian Invasion

A small portion of India’s USD 16m import order for 36,000 Vande Bharat train wheels from a Ukrainian supplier was produced before most of the firm’s workers joined the war effort following Russia’s military offensive launch on 24 Feb.

According to sources of India’s Hindustan Times, 128 wheels were taken to neighbouring Romania by road in April and will be airlifted to India in May. Sources indicated that payment was to be made through an LC after the deliveries were made, but gave no details about the LC.
